I would love to come visit your school or library!
For more information about presentations and pricing please email me at email@example.com.
My library visits include of a half-hour story time and/or presentation with the kids, reading book(s) aloud, answering questions, and signing books. Please contact me if you have questions about how my presentations may fit with the event you are planning.
PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN
Includes a half-hour story time, where I read 3-4 books aloud, answers questions, teaches students to draw one of my book characters, and signs books.
For large groups or assemblies, I give a presentation including information about my background, what it’s like to work as an author and illustrator, the process of making a picture book, and if time permits, read a story aloud and sign books. Questions are always welcome after the presentation. Please note that your school will need to provide the necessary equipment for my presentation (screen, projector, and easel).
Creative cats? I also does art demos, for grades 3 and up, teaching kids how to create illustrations using cut paper and mixed media. This presentation works best with small groups of 15-25 students and the following art supplies will need to be provided by the school or library: scissors, glue, pencils, crayons and markers, and construction/found paper.
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS
Creative writers? I offer a creative writing workshop, for grades 3 and up, teaching students some of the writing exercises I use in my own writing process as well as a presentation on inspiration and journaling. This works best with small groups of 25-30 students. Each student participating will need paper and something to write with during the workshop.
Includes a story time, show and tell, and answering questions.

“I would like to offer my sincere thanks for taking the time to come and read to our preschoolers! They loved hearing from a real author first hand and seeing the beautiful books you have written and illustrated. There is no better gift for young children than an appreciation of literacy and good literature. Thank you for aiding us in our mission to encourage young readers!”

“We were so excited to have a local author from Peninsula, Lindsay Ward, visit the preschool so we too could celebrate Right to Read Week. After Lindsay had shared three of her books with the children, they then presented their class books to Lindsay – it was almost like being published!”
