Library Visits
For library visits, I read my books aloud and/or give a presentation, teach how to draw one of my book characters, answer questions, and sign books. Please contact me if you have questions about how my presentations may fit with the event you are planning. (30 min.)

School Presentations (Grades 1-5)
For large groups or assemblies, I give a presentation including information about my background, what it’s like to work as an author and illustrator, the process of making a picture book, read a story aloud, and teach students how to draw one of my book characters. Questions are always welcome after the presentation. (1 Hour)

School Presentations (Preschool)
Includes a half-hour story time, where I read 3-4 books aloud, answers questions, teach students to draw one of my book characters, and sign books.
Workshops

Color Mixing Workshop (K+)
Learn basic color theory and color mixing, for grades K and up. I’ll show students how to mix secondary and tertiary colors from primary colors, teach the the relationships between colors and read my book, THIS BOOK IS GRAY. Each student will receive pages of my companion activity book, THIS BOOK IS FOR COLORING, to work in during the workshop and take home. (1 Hour)

Creative Writing Workshop (Grades 3+)
CREATIVE WRITERS? This is a creative writing workshop, for grades 3 and up, teaching students some of the writing exercises I use in my own writing process as well as a presentation on inspiration and journaling. Each student participating will need paper and something to write with during the workshop. (1 Hour)

Creative Cats Workshiop (Grades 3+)
CREATIVE CATS? This is an art workshop, for grades 3+, teaching kids how to create illustrations using cut paper and mixed media. I create a theme, bring in a writing prompt or a story for the kids to illustrate, either working individually or in groups. The following art supplies will need to be provided by the school or library: scissors, glue, pencils, crayons and markers, and construction/found paper. (1 Hour)

*All visits requested outside the Northeast Ohio area or 50+ miles away from Peninsula, Ohio will be required to schedule a minimum full day of presentations (4 total).
