LIBRARY VISITS
My library visits include of a half-hour story time and/or presentation with the kids, reading book(s) aloud, answering questions, and signing books. Please contact me if you have questions about how my presentations may fit with the event you are planning.
PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN
Includes a half-hour story time, where I read 3-4 books aloud, answers questions, teach students to draw one of my book characters, and sign books.
GRADES 1-5
For large groups or assemblies, I give a presentation including information about my background, what it’s like to work as an author and illustrator, the process of making a picture book, and if time permits, read a story aloud and sign books. Questions are always welcome after the presentation. Please note that your school will need to provide the necessary equipment for my presentation (screen, projector, and easel).
CUT PAPER WORKSHOP
Creative cats? I also does cut paper workshops, for grades 3 and up, teaching kids how to create illustrations using cut paper and mixed media. This presentation works best with small groups of 15-25 students and the following art supplies will need to be provided by the school or library for each participant: scissors, glue, pencils, crayons and markers, and construction/found paper.
COLOR MIXING WORKSHOP
Painters? Learn basic color theory and color mixing, for grades K and up. I’ll show students how to mix secondary and tertiary colors from primary colors, teach the the relationships between colors and read my book, THIS BOOK IS GRAY. Each student will receive a copy of my companion activity book, THIS BOOK IS FOR COLORING, to work in during the workshop and take home. Ideal for small groups of 15-25 students.
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
Creative writers? I offer a creative writing workshop, for grades 3 and up, teaching students some of the writing exercises I use in my own writing process as well as a presentation on inspiration and journaling. This works best with small groups of 25-30 students. Each student participating will need paper and something to write with during the workshop.

PLEASE NOTE:
*No more than four presentations will be scheduled per day.
*All visits requested outside the Northeast Ohio area will be required to schedule a minimum full day of presentations (4 total).
